Fall? Autumn? Not sure which way to go there.

I never know which is preferred. Sorta depends on where you grew up, I guess. For me, it seems to come down to how fancy (Autumn) or how down-to-earth (Fall) I want to sound. Either way, can you believe it's already the season after Summer?

It's been a while since we last spoke. How have you been? Good, I hope. As for me, well, I'll use this brief moment we're sharing to catch you up on a few things I've been doing both for fun and profit. And if you're pressed for time, you can skip down to the bottom and get the special prize.

It's that time of year again. Yes, decorative gourd season but just as importantly, the time of year when I finally get around to getting my site redesigned and updated.

Why not give it a perusal? And why not keep the typo and comma-splice comments to yourself, eh? I'm sure they're there but I'm just happy to have emerged unscathed from the treacherous depths of cascading style sheets (nerd alert!) deep within Wordpress.

All that matters is that it's a site where I attempt to demonstrate some simple examples of what countless hours, days, meetings, expletive outbursts and eventual high-fives add up to. And it's done. Until next Fall (Autumn?) at least.

I know you probably know this already but in case you were looking at your phone when I was telling you: in addition to my "work" I also take cycling groups to Europe a couple times every summer. The 2017 trips ended up being some of the best yet.

We went to Sicily in May to ride the same roads as the 100th edition of the Giro d'Italia (and eat amazing Sicilian food). We even saw the Giro finish one stage on top of Mt Etna. It's a friggin' active volcano! Insanity.

Then, we went back to our home in the Alps in July. We had a tough group of riders this year. And we also had absolutely ideal weather. That added up to probably harder riding than we've ever done on that trip. But, combined with a police-evading trip up the Col du Galibier to see the Tour de France, it was definitely one of the most memorable trips we've ever done.

As you may know, we have a house in New Orleans. It's a little creole cottage that's over 200 years old. It's been through the War of 1812! We've been fixing up its insides for a while now but felt the time was right for this little gem to show off its colorful, Caribbean, multi-cultural history. We're there as often as we can be but we also rent it out from time to time.

A great question! Spelled correctly? Probably not. But it is a fun playlist to get you moving on the bike trainer, on that PowerPoint deck you keep putting off or on your way to the subway: Où Est Le Disco?

Not in the mood for those smooth, danceable grooves? Why not get lost in my Tumblr feed for a while then? Yes it has a lot of photos of bathrooms. I'm a little obsessed. But it also has other fun things.

Ok, that was fun. Nice to see you again. It'll probably be a little while before I send another one of these but let's not let that keep us from being in touch.
